"Hi, I'm Dr. Larry Klein, and I'm a dentist here in St. Petersburg, Florida. Today we're going to talk a little bit about wisdom teeth, when you get abscesses around them. What their symptoms are. Usually you'll find someone that is anywhere from 18, to 30 years old, and the wisdom tooth is coming in. It doesn't quite come in all the way, and basically it becomes sometimes impacted with either the tissue, or the bone around that. And the symptoms you get are a pain, that goes all the way up into your ear. It feels tender, especially if you're biting, or chewing. Sometimes, it can even keep you up at night. It's really, really important to have this checked out by your dentist, because sometimes those symptoms can actually be a infection. Or sometimes even, especially around a wisdom tooth, a cyst, or some precancerous type of situation. So, if you start having symptoms around your wisdom teeth, back, by the back part of your ear, and you know that you've never had your wisdom teeth out, and you're falling between those ages, definitely check it out with your dentist. If you have any other questions, feel free to give me a call. I'm Larry Klein. Here in St. Petersburg, where a smile is contagious."
