It's a common complaint that people come in to the office with. Diabetes makes you extremely tired especially before you are diagnosed and treated. This is not a usual tiredness like end of the work day tired but a tiredness that really effects your entire life. With diabetes the patient can also have the symptom of being sleepy. Sleepiness is actually a danger sign and if you have sleepiness that is something to be concerned about. Sleepiness can be a sign of immediate physical danger and you need to go immediately to the nearest hospital. The patient could have experienced sleepiness from taking their medication but not eating. Maybe they're sick and unable to eat solids or keep down liquids and this has caused their blood sugar to drop dangerously low and they have become sleepy so if you are sleepy you definitely need to have that checked out."
