Now, these programs can easily be prevented from downloading themselves and installing themselves on your computer simply by having a very careful behavior when you're navigating the Internet. This means you should try to stay away from suspicious-looking sites, especially sites which offer free things to download, and that whenever there's some sort of pop-up window asking whether you want to install something, you should read it very carefully and try to figure out if this is simply some trick to get you to install some kind of spyware or adware. Besides simply being careful on the Internet, having a program like Norton's Internet Security, which includes a firewall, can help to prevent malware infections on your computer. However, if you don't have such a program and your computer becomes infected by malware, don't worry too much because you can download a free malware remover. For example, from Lavasoft, you can get Ad-Aware free edition at www.lavasoft.com or you can also download Spybot Search&Destroy from safer-networking.org."
