Hi I am Noah, and I am going to show you how to determine if a website is legitimate. The first thing to do to determine whether a website is legitimate is always to use your common sense. Usually if there is some kind of offer offer on the Internet that is too good to be true that is because it is too good to be true, and it is probably some scam that is going to end up harming your computer. Besides simply being careful there are also software solutions which allow you to check if the website is legitimate. AVG for example as part of its free anti-virus program has a function called safe search, which will scan the search results in advance for you and tell you if it is safe to access the site or not or in other words if the website is legitimate. This is included in the free version and also a more advanced function like this is included in the versions which you have to pay for. What this does basically is that when you search for something in Google next to the search results you will see little signs telling you if the website is legitimate and safe to be seen or not. A green check mark for example in the star indicates that the website is safe and legitimate whereas the red x means that you should avoid this site.
