How to Send an E-Mail to a Verizon Cell Phone

"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today, I'm going to show you how to send an email to a Verizon cell phone. Let's go to our computer where I'm logged into my email account. I'm just going to pull up my Gmail account here. And the way that we're going to send an email to any Verizon cell phone is very simple. Just open up something to compose mail. That's typically the link that you'll click on your...in your email client to send an email. And in our to field, we want to type in the cell phone number, including the area code with no dashes or dots or spaces -- just the number all by itself. So if our area code is 555 and the number is 123-4567, that will be...let me separate this out. And of course, I'll need an eight. 45678. That would be the telephone number there of the cell phone. Just make sure you don't put any dashes or dots -- just that number -- and then an at symbol, and vtext, V-T-E-X-T, .com for Verizon text. I'm just going to say "Hello." Now, now that I've typed my email and I'm sending it to the telephone number at vtext.com, if I'll just click send here, that email will go out to the cell phone and will come up as a text message on that person's phone. Now, it's interesting to note, too, when you do this, that if they have an...if they have to pay for text messages, it will actually cost them money because they are receiving a text message. So you need to use this justly and make sure you're not sending text messages to people who don't want them. But that is how you send a text message to a Verizon phone."
