"Hi my name is Dave Andrews and today I'm going to show you how to improve an existing website. Let's go to our computer here and in order to improve an existing website that already exists you first have to have the connection information to connect to that website and download the files that can change it. In my case mine is, I just accessed it by FTP, by opening up my computer and going to FTP, www.daveandrews.org. So since I am using FTP it is going to ask me to type in my credentials here. Now I am connected by my website but let's say I want to show you the file I want to update. I am just going to open up my internet browser here and I'm going to pull up a page that is on my site called daveandrews.org/mypage.htm. This is the page that I would like to update so that's actually a file that is on this server that I have just connected to. So I am going to find mypage.htm and it's a list here and I'm going to copy it and I'm going to paste it to my desktop where I can modify it. Now you are going to want to open this in your webpage but I am just going to use notepad because it is quick and easy and here is the code that makes up my webpage. Now I am going to change this around. This is my improvement, separate that by a couple of spaces. Now basically you can do whatever you would like to this page like adding images or whatnot, I just typed in a single line of a sentence that says or a couple of sentences that says this is my improvement I hope you like it. Let's save our changes. Now to get this updated page back to the website we're just going to right click on it, copy it and go back to our FTP connection and right click and paste. This tells me that it already contains a file with that name and we'll say yes I'd like to replace it. Now if we go back to our web browser which is daveandrews.org/mypage.htm if I refresh you'll see the improvements that I have made to the web page. So once you get to your host information you can download all the files on a web site, update them as you see fit, and then just upload them back to the host. My name is Dave Andrews and I have just showed you how to improve an existing web site."
