Hello I'm Dr. Deborah Wheeler. I'm the Vice President of academic affairs at Argosy University on the Salt Lake City Campus. I'm also a Clinical Psychologist and today's topic is fun jump rope activities with your kids. Fortunately you can do jump rope activities with any age of child and with any type of rope, even if you only have a small piece of string, that would work just as well for the young children. You can lay out the string in a straight line, have them jump on one side of the rope and then the other. You can have them dance around the rope. You can do follow the leader or play games that are just really simple with a long piece of string or something that resembles a jump rope. Now older children of course can be challenged to do more intricate jump rope activities. They may want to learn some of the fun school games that go with jump ropes but you can have them doing follow the leader just the same only with more complex jumping activities. How many can they jump, how long can they jump, what types of jumps can they do, all of those are fun ones for the older kids. If you'd like more information on this topic or any others that we can help you with on parenting, please contact us at argosy.edu.
