Hello I'm Dr. Deborah Wheeler. I'm the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Argosy University in the Salt Lake City Campus and I'm also a Clinical Psychologist. Today's topics are finding fun family ideas for family night. This topic is only limited by your creativity. Be sure to think of creative ideas that you can do together. Of course you are going to want to pick something that is age appropriate that's fun for the whole family but how about taking a look around in your own community. Have you visited the local museums? Have you gone to the local parks? Have you gone to a new place that you haven't been together as a family before? Think of the things that you enjoy and that will be something that you can share and pass on with your children. Think of all the things that you like as an adult in a hobby and find ways to modify those for children. You are not limited to any particular activity but you can open that search wide open. Look on line for free activities in your city. Look for museums and special events for children. There is no need to pay a lot of money or expense or time. You can find fun things right in your own back yard. One of the things that I like to do is to keep a list. As you are going through that Sunday paper you might come across a great activity or place to go. Maybe you're not going to go now or maybe you don't want to pay the money for that special event. Still write it down on a list, keep that list, refer to it during the entire year. You're going to find some fun things to go do later that maybe don't cost anything at all, free to the family and you still get to try something new. Keep that fun list it will remind you of all the fun things you want to do as a family.
