Hello I'm Dr. Deborah Wheeler. I'm the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Argosy University on the Salt Lake City Campus and today's topic is can your baby sleep too much? Many people are concerned about this. Parent worry of course is their child getting too much sleep, not enough sleep, eating too much, not eating enough, this is one of those common worries. Babies can sleep a surprising amount of time. You might be lucky enough to have a baby who sleeps consistently. If so and you are a new parent make sure you sleep when the baby sleeps. Take advantage of that opportunity. If you really do have a suspicion that something isn't quite right make sure that you talk to you physician, make sure you consult your medical provider so that you know your baby is growing and adapting as well as can be. You want your baby to be happy and healthy so be sure to consult with a physician to find out what is exactly normal or expected for that child's aging, make sure you check with your doctor for that but in most cases you can be assured that you are just a fortunate parent if your child sleeps well. If you'd like more information on this topic or any others that we can help you with on parenting please contact us at argosy.edu.
