"Hi, my name is Roger. I'm with R-Tech Computers. And we're going to talk briefly about reliable and cost effective Dell Notebooks. Dell makes their Notebooks, their consumer lines as well as some of their business models. Available from the four hundred, four hundred to about a thousand dollar range. There are obviously models that go well above a thousand. But for the most part, you will find in that range will do just about anything you want it to do. As far as reliability, Notebooks in general tend to be carried around. And as a result they have a fairly short life span. They can last as little as a few months. Because if somebody drops it, even days or weeks. Because it gets knocked off the counter. I always encourage all my clients to get the 3 Year Accidental Damage Warranty. That's currently being offered in the market place. And it will basically, if there is a problem. It will cover the damage under warranty. Even if you drop it. As long as it happens of course, by accident. You don't intentionally damage the unit. But it will cover the warranty and you'll be able to send it in. And the nice thing is, if you get the 3 Year. Then you know that you're going to have a laptop that you're going to rely on on for three years. The investment in the warranty usually range from a hundred to three hundred dollars. Depending on the model. Some of the warranty features are on site versus in house. Meaning it's a depot warranty, where you ship the product back to Dell. In my experience, the depot warranty is really all you need to go for. Unless, the laptop is so badly damaged like it won't even turn on. They will typically not send the technician out in the field. And you would typically end up spending a couple of hours on the phone. Troubleshooting it with Dell. Before they'll send the technician out to you. And they're really hoping that you're going to get frustrated and just send it in, anyways."
