Video Transcript

"Hi, I'm Noah and I'm going to show you how to run a speed test for a broadband connection. If you've ever wondered whether you're getting what you paid for with your internet company in terms of the speed that's specified in the contract, this is how you can find out. If you do a Google search for the term "speed test", you'll come up with an absolutely huge list of different services offering to test your bandwidth. Any of these are fine, but just make sure that you're using a server which is near to your home to get an accurate reading on how fast your connection can be. Finally, just launch any one of these tests, and then wait for it to connect and test your speed. First it will try downloading a sample and then uploading one, and then tell you both the speed for your uploading and downloading. You can expect the downloading speed to be a lot faster than the uploading speed, which is completely normal."
