Hi everyone, my name is Isabelle. I am a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant in the Tampa Bay area and today we're going to learn about maple syrup cleansing diets. Now it's actually not necessarily a diet per se because you're actually not eating anything. So it's rather a fast than a diet. And the idea is to mix pure, 100% pure maple syrup, mix with clean water and fresh squeeze lemon juice. That fast is actually nothing new; it's been around since the 1970's but it became popular again at around 2004, 2005 when actress Beyonce used it for her role in the movie Dream Girls. I do not recommend that you do this kind of fast. When Beyonce did it, she was supported and supervised by a team of doctors. It can be very dangerous to do it on your own; the reason being is, it last for ten days. For ten days, you will have absolutely no nutrients, no vitamins, no minerals, no nothing. So yes, you will lose weight; but you will also deteriorate your muscles; it is very dangerous for the skeleton and for your health in general. So, this is what it consist of; but if you were to do it, I will not do it for more one, than one day. And if you want to do it for longer than that, I highly, highly encourage you to talk to your doctor so that he or she can help you and supervise you along the way. That is absolutely crucial to stay healthy. I hope you learn something new today. I'm Isabelle and I will see you soon. Take care.
