Hi everyone. My name is Isabelle. I am a nutrition consultant in the Tampa Bay area and today we're going to learn about the benefits of green tea. For our little demo here, I actually warmed up some water earlier and I'm just going to drop a little bit of the bag of my green tea here. As we speak, we're going to let it brew. Green tea has many, many benefits. It is a powerful anti-oxidant. What it means is that it protects the cells in the body. Let's say you're have an apple that has a protection which is the skin. If I were to cut it open and leave it up in the air it would become brown. That is oxidation. So, green tea protect the cell and protect the skin of the cell, if you will, or the outer layer of the cell and prevents oxidation of the cell. So, anti-oxidant, it helps boost your immune system, which is obviously fight disease and it also helps boost your metabolism, which means your blood is going to circulate a little faster. You're going to burn calories a little faster doing exactly the same things that you normally do, which means it's going to help with weight loss. So, if any of you out there want to lose a little bit of weight, having some green tea will help. If you are caffeine sensitive, like I am, I would recommend that you drink your tea no later than twelve noon or one o'clock because we don't want to stay up all night, right? We want the benefits of green tea but we want to be able to get a good nights sleep as well. So, those are a few of the benefits of green tea.
