Hey. My name is Shaun and I'm here with the Wilmington Boxing and Fitness Center. And I'm here today to talk to you about calorie counters on exercise machines. You know people get on ellipticals, treadmills and bikes. They like to go miles and miles. Well getting on those machines are really good and helpful. They range out the calories that you're burning but its a given estimate on those machines. And that's what the manufacturers did. It gives an estimate so its not really that accurate. And they inflate that number to about 10 to 20, 30%. Now on most ellipticals that range is from about 18 to 20%. On bikes up to 12% and on treadmills its about 15% to 20%. So you want to stick with your basics, walking, jogging and jumping rope, you know just being active every day. But also stay with the elliptical and treadmill and bike because those are really good for you. And the ellipticals and bikes they take a lot of impact off your knees and joints and stuff. So stick with it and that's talking about calorie counters on exercise machines.
