"Hello. My name is Shaun and I'm here with the Wilmington Boxing and Fitness Center. And I'm here today to show you how to use the fat caliper. And here is an example of a fat caliper right here. It measures the body fat that's on you. And there's three sites you can measure your body fat at. For guys it's at your chest muscle, your abdomen and your thigh. And for ladies it's at your tricep, the back of your arm, your super iliat area right here and your thigh also. And what you want to do when using this you want to first pinch the skin just a little bit and you want to place this right on the skin just like that. And its going to range the numbers in millimeters of thickness. And what you want to do you want to measure each site three times when you do the measurement and you want to take the average of those three. Then once you average them out you want to add the three sites together and that's how you will get your body fat. Now skin fold calipers they're not the most accurate way but that's what you have to deal with a lot of times a lot of non accuracy but it is one of the best and its used all the time. So ways to measure your body fat is first you want to pinch your skin, you want to place it on top of the skin, you want to measure it out, you want to get the average of it. And that's how you use skin fold calipers."
