"Hello. I'm Dr. Loretta Ciraldo. A board certified dermatologist, and author of "Six Weeks to Sensational Skin." This clip is about medical conditions that cause oily skin. If you have the sudden onset of oily skin, than this may be something that you should see your dermatologist about. There are different conditions that might be reflected in the sudden onset of oiliness. For instance, a not uncommon one we see, is that people can get little oil gland tumors around their eyes, so that they have little yellow deposits around their eyes, and this is called Zanthelasma. This Zanthelasma condition, or the sudden of onset of oily patches around the eyes, is associated with the possibility of you riding a high cholesterol or triglycerides. So if you do have the sudden onset of yellow plaques, really oil gland plaques, around your eyes, you should see your doctor and get a fasting blood test of your lipids. This is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo in Miami."
