Do...you know, do research and pull your sources together. Once you've had a chance to read through and synthesize some of the sources, then you can begin to place your information into a logical order. The organization of an outline is the main...is a top line, and usually, the accepted format is Roman numeral, so have a...for example, for the first main idea,you'll have Roman numeral I with the main idea. Then indent a bit. Below that, capital letters, you'll have each detail. So letter A will be your first detail underneath that main idea. If you have further supporting details beneath your main details, you do a number indented again. So you may have number 1 and number 2 under letter A that support your topic and your detail. So as you go through putting together your research paper outline, organizing a logical way in a way that you'll use it in your paper. Start with a main idea, then a detail, and then possibly supporting details, and organize them with a Roman numeral, capital letter, and then English numeral.
