Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how can you spend a Pell Grant. A Pell Grant is money that is granted to you for school expenses, and a good way to think about that is anything that you might need to help you in your life as a student. So, it could be books, it could be living expenses, it could be gas for getting to and from campus. I've had people give me some advice about how to handle the Pell Grant money and many have advised keeping it in a fund for unexpected expenses above and beyond what you've already planned for. But, I just want to emphasize that the Pell Grant isn't tracked. So you do not have to report back on how it was spent. You pretty much have discretion, but it's a good advice to think about using it for those kind of expenses that you might not already be expecting. Those are some ideas on how to spend a Pell Grant.
