"Hi, I'm Laura from young writers workshops and I'm going to talk about how to qualify for a Pell grant. The first step in the process of qualifying for a Pell grant is to gather up your financial information. If you're under the age of eighteen and living with your parents it's possible you'll need to get information from your parents as well to have that ready to do the application. Before you do the application you also have to have a pin number and this is created at the FAFSA site which is the student loan funding organization. So create a pin number then you also probably want to do some of the worksheets that are available at that same site because that will make sure that you have all the information ready as you begin to do the application process. Respect the deadlines. Generally they're at the end of the school year, but double check to make sure you know what the deadlines are so you'll be able to submit the application in a timely manner. In most cases the application is done on line. You can do it also on paper and mail it in. And generally you'll receive a report within a relatively short time after you've done the application. This will tell you exactly what you've qualified for, if anything and then it will give you instructions for how to collect your funding. So those are some ideas how to qualify for a Pell grant."
