My name's Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to find out who owns a website. The way you do this is called "who is queries" which will query the worldwide domain names system and return to you the register, that was used to register a website. So, let's go back to our computer, and we'll click on start. Go to the internet. Now, let's just do a search on Google for a who is website. Type who is, w-h-o-i-s, as you can see it returns whois.net as a lookup for domain names. Now, I can basically type in right here who is lookup and I'm going to type in oh, let's say Yahoo, I'm going to leave .com selected and click go. So, this has just returned the who is information for Yahoo, and as I scroll down, you can see that the registrant that registered the domain was a domain administrator with Yahoo Incorporated. 701 1st Avenue in Sunnyvale, California. It also has contact information for those particular people, telephone numbers, when they registered the domain, when it expires, information such as that. It's that easy to find out who registered and therefore, who owns a domain name. My name's Dave Andrews, and I've just told you how to find out who owns a website.
