Hi my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to design a web page. Let's go to our computer and we are actually going to use Microsoft Word to build us a simple web page. Now what we're going to do inside of Word is basically the exact same things that we would normally do such as typing of text, inserting images as though we were working on an actual document. And then we are going to save it as a web page. So let's begin by putting in a little quick header. I'm just going to make my font something that looks like a header. And it give it a larger size. Say welcome to my site. Now beneath that I'm going back to a normal size font. Say by Dave Andrews. This is my web site I hope you enjoy it. I'm just going for the sake of filling in some text I'm just going to copy and paste that a bunch of times. Now we've created a header and some sort of a by line here. And we've typed in some text into our website. Let's say we would also like to put in an image. I'm just going to scroll above my text here and I'm just going to insert an image by going to the insert tab, going to picture and lets insert this picture of a birthday present since it's handy. So there's our birthday present picture and I can kind of resize it and what not just by dragging those little handles. So now that you know how to insert pictures, type in text, and change fonts, lets also change a few colors and bolds some things. I'm going to bold this is my web site, the very first one. Bold and I'm going to make it, I'm going to make the text in red. Now lets save this as a web page by going to the office button which is the very top, going to save as, lets select other formats. Now as you can see you have the option for save as type here. Now I'm going to change this to web page, which is dot htm or dot html. I'm just going to save that as welcome to my site dot htm under my documents. And now that that's saved lets open it up in our web browser by going to our documents, find welcome to my site, just open it up. It will open in our web browser. So there is my very simple web site that I've just created in Word showing in the web browser. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to design a web page.
