"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to use Microsoft Silverlight. Let's go to our web browser by clicking on the Start button and just open up Internet Explorer. And Microsoft has a website that basically shows different websites that use Microsoft Silverlight and what it's good for. Let's go to www.microsoft.com/silverlight. Now on the main page of this screen they have basically a lot of featured sites that use Microsoft Silverlight and this little control that I'm using here in the middle of the screen to scroll through and decide which one I want to choose, is actually using Silverlight itself. I don't really have to do anything special to use Silverlight. Basically whenever I go to a website that uses it, it will automatically start using it all by itself. I'm going to click on one of these examples here and it's going to launch inside of my web browser the Silverlight viewer which is similar to Flash and it'll basically display this website in an interesting fashion. So here we have this site that's using Microsoft Silverlight. Still kind of loading. So now that this site has loaded up, basically this control in the middle here with all this pictures of these car, of this car, is using a Silverlight control that let's me zoom in on the images which are very high resolution and basically this is just one example of what Silverlight can be used for. I think you can also display it on a grid here and you can change images as well using this image control. So Silverlight is similar to Flash in that is does things like this, where you can have animations inside of the web browser, but basically all you have to do to use it is open up a website that's programmed to use it. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to use Microsoft Silverlight."
