"In the old days buying and selling stocks was a timely cumbersome process. Hi this is Roger Groh of Groh Asset Management. It involved writing down an order and putting the order in a pneumatic tube and having it go to a teletype and then turn up somewhere else and having that hand delivered to a trader and then, verbally ordered onto some other, it's a pain and it took a long time to go through the process. So if you were buying and selling stock you had to take that time line into consideration. Today though, trades are almost instantaneous if they are done on your computer. So most traders don't pay any attention to the time of day. They do pay a lot of attention to the time of year though. The reason is that if it's vacation period people go on vacation and there may not be a trader on the other end to answer that computer's call to buy or to sell. Other things to consider, if you are trading cross border, make sure you've got your time right cause you want to be, you don't want to have your order delayed for a day because you blew the time conversion.
