First of all, keep in mind that if you throw a computer in the trash it is not very environmentally friendly so it is better to look for other alternatives especially since in most cases your computer can still be of great use to lots of people. Here for example is you have an old computer you can try to open it up and salvage some parts for example the hard drive and make an external hard drive from it. If you do not know much about computers try to maybe give it to a friend who does and who can get some use out of your old computer, whether it is working or not. Finally you can also drop your computer off at a Goodwill store where they will refurbish it, sell it to someone, and you will be helping the people in need with the money from the computer purchase."
