"Sleep mode in Windows Vista can cause issues simply because when you put a computer to sleep you're putting the exact session, the exact state into memory and turning off the power, so when it comes out of memory some session variables might change; like the time, and things like that. So, you have to keep that in mind when the computer is calculating all these things. Wireless devices are no different than say your keyboard not working immediately when you pull it out of sleep mode. Wireless devices in Vista are prone to any other device issues just like any other hardware or software you can think of. Hardware is controlled by software called a driver, so if you're going to, if you're having issues with any type of hardware; particularly in this case with wireless devices in sleep mode with Vista, you want to take a look first off to see if there is a new or updated driver for your wireless device. In most cases, most wireless devices ship with Intel wireless chips, so you'd go to the Intel website, and depending on your device model, which you find out from the device manager on Windows Vista, you'd download the most up-to-date driver, or you can go to your manufacturer's website; like Dell or HP."
