How to Get of Rid Acne Marks

"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics, and I'm going to tell you how to get rid of acne marks. Basically, what happens when you get an acne mark or an acne scar is if you pick a blemish and then you go out into the sun without protection and it causes that area to hyperpigment or to darken. So one of the easiest ways to get rid of it is to actually give yourself a series of deep exfoliating facial peels, such as this one here. This is just basically going to penetrate deep down into the skin. It's going to bring those damaged skin cells to the surface, exfoliate, and get rid of those, revealing healthier, newer skin. It's going to basically lighten up any discolorations and give you a more even tone. Another thing that you can do is to get an acne spot treatment. This is a two percent hydroquinone-based acne lightening gel. So what this is going to do is it's actually going to go deep within the pore. It's going to stop the melanocytes from producing melanin, and it's going to help to lighten a discoloration. So if used consistently for up to six to eight weeks, you can get really good results, but you have to make sure you're following up with a sunscreen. So those are some things that you can do to lighten acne marks."
