Hi I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and make-up artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics, and I'm going to show you the best way to apply eye shadow. So the first thing we're going to start with is some eye shadow primer. Just to kind of show you a little bit about how an eye shadow primer works. Basically it works like a magnet for your eye shadow. So if you just put a little bit of eye shadow on an area where you don't have primer, you see how it hardly shows up. And then when you put it right on top of the primer, you can see how it really grabs and pulls a lot more pigment so you can actually see the eye shadow. So that's the first thing we're going to start with. It also helps to prevent your eye shadow from creasing and caking as well. So you won't get half-way through the day and have your eye shadow completely gone, or all creased up on your eye. We're going to work with three colors just to do a basic eye shadow look. So we're going to start with our lightest color here, and we're going to put that all over from lash to brow, we'll use that as our base color. We're going to move to our medium toned color, we're going to apply this to the lid. And I like to use a fluffy brush for that. And then we're going to use our bulleted brush to move onto our darkest color. Just kind of work in a windshield wiper motion to contour the crease area. So that's the best way to apply an easy eye shadow look.
