"I'm Walt Case. I own Card Traders of Austin in Austin, Texas. We've been in business for approximately fourteen years. We sell a variety of sports cards. The question often arises "What's the most popular football card out there?" Well, there are three companies basically that make football cards today. That's Topps, Upper Deck, and Playoff Donruss. Each of those companies produce a variety of cards from what we call entry level products, all the way up to extremely high end products that can run you up to as much as six to seven hundred dollars a pack. Those packs are obviously going to include autographed cards and jersey cards and short printed cards and numbered cards. In terms of the more popular cards, it typically goes to the rookie cards. The rookies that are really really hot, or the rookies that have a lot of hype coming out of college. For instance, Derrick McFaden, coming out of Arkansas last year was a high draft pick and was a very sought after rookie. On the other hand, some of the other players that came out did not get drafted as high, such as Joe Flacco, who has had a tremendous season up to this point and is a very sought after card in today's market. As I mentioned, sometimes you get autographed rookie cards. They tend to be much more valuable than just a standard rookie card. Number one, there won't be as many of them printed. Also, you get numbered rookie cards from time to time, or they short print a card. That also increases the value and the demand for the card. Another rookie card that is very very sought after today is Adrian Peterson, who again had a very very good year in the NFL this year, and is a card that many collectors would like to have in their collection."
