"Hi, my name is Sam Lewis from madebysam.com and I'm here to talk to you about putting a hem in a T-shirt. If it's possible to do so, you want to keep your original bottom hem from your T-shirt because it was made at the factory to not unravel which is going to be the hard part. So, mark your seam where you want it hemmed to and then roughly every eight to ten inches pin along your bottom hem line where you want the hem to go. Then with your thread fairly loose tension and you begin your seaming roughly three eighths of an inch from your hem line. Take the first pin out, as you're going, hold your fabric firmly between your two fingers so that it doesn't slide relative to itself and get a nice clean line. Stop, reposition your fingers, as you reach your next pin, pull it out, keep untwisting your fabric so it doesn't get tied up on you. An important thing to remember is do not pull on your fabric, let the sewing machine pull it through. And as you come to the end, over stitch your first line, go back about a quarter of an inch, you've locked in your stitch and that's how you hem a T-shirt."
