"Alright folks in this clip I'm going to show you the best way to learn how to draw step by step. Obviously the best way to learn anything is to do it, get out a blank piece of paper, your very own pen, pencil, whatever and actually start laying ideas down. Chances are if you want to learn how to draw you have already got an idea of the types of characters, worlds that you want to create what you are interested in. The best thing to do is to start exploring that and use sort of basic shapes and ideas. As you are starting to kind of craft your signature look and style allow yourself to just start with the basics, learn how to draw eyes in the way that you think you might want to have your character's eyes look and follow up with the rest of the face. I usually like to start with the eyes and then work my way down from the nose to the mouth to the outer edges of the face and then up to the hair. That for me is the easiest way to start and I think that is the best way to learn to draw characters. Of course there are many many ways you can learn to do this. This is not the only way. A lot of people would say it is smarter to start with the outer edge of the body to craft the overall shape of your character first using rudimentary circles. Basically sketch the rough shape of the character using circles, squares and any other basic shapes. Kind of erase your work as you go and then fill in the lines from there adding more and more detail, kind of working your way outward and moving inward. That would be another way to go. Learning how to draw is never easy. At first it can be frustrating because you have these ideas in your head but it seems like your hand won't cooperate with your ideas but practice makes perfect, learn the process of drawing the shapes and really allowing yourself to move one small step at a time. Take a step back from the big picture and really just focus on each little detail of what you are drawing. Draw the best eyes you can and the best nose, the best mouth and the more you practice the easier it will become."
