How to Re-Spool a Fishing Pole

"This is how to re-spool your fishing pole. The easiest way to go about it is to just twist off your drag cap and take off your spool. Just bring your spool down to your local bait and tackle shop where they'll re-spool it for you. Typically it will cost even less than buying your own line because they've bulk line there and it's cheaper to buy than just small amounts of it. But if you're in a situation where you can't get to the bait shop and you got to re-spool your line yourself, it's also quite simple. All you want to do is take your line, just put it in front of you, just run your line through your top guide, flip your bail up and then just tie a quick little knot, use a little slipknot here. Just cinch it down. If you've got too much of a tag, you can just clip it off, if not, you're all ready to go. And what I like to do is just keep it a little tension between my thumb and my first finger and just slowly reel it on. You don't want to go too fast because the line's going to space out on you evenly and a lot of times that'll lead to birds nests and twists in the line. The other thing you want to keep in mind when you're re-spooling your pole is that you don't want to fill it up too much, you never want to go past the bevel of the reel because that a lot of times will lead to birds nests and just a lot of trouble with your line. So like I said, just keep a little pressure between your thumb and your first finger and just slowly put the line on."
