Hi, my name is Raphael Perrier. I'm from Kahwa Coffee Roasting, and I'm here to talk to you about the history of coffee makers. The coffee maker comes from Turkey. At first they started to brew some Turkish coffee. What we did is, we took the ground coffee, and the crushed coffee, and mixed it to water, and boil it and boil it, and boil it again, until it became very muddy. That's why coffee, Turkish coffee, is so thick. We stir in a lot of sugar to get rid of the bitterness of the beans itself. After that some people discovered that you can actually filter the, the coffee grounds to extract the coffee liquid that we know now. And that's where the kind of drip coffee came out. A lot of people knew the drip coffee all over America. One of the next invention, was the espresso machine, which was invented by Italians. I think in the nineteen fifties, and they discovered that by boiling some water inside a machine and extracting a little amount of coffee, very, very fine grind, they came out with something very creamy. And, that's what they love. The espresso. That's where the espresso machine comes from. Down the road, we got something called the French press. The French press is a very coarse grind that you put on the bottom of the,of the, of the pot and put water, hot water on it, and just strain it, to, to extract the coffee. And that's pretty much all the, all the story about the coffee makers. And, I'm Raphael from Kawha Coffee, and talk to you about the story about coffee makers.
