"Hi I'm Richard Rifkin and we're here at the Merlin Theater in Budapest, Hungary. We're going to talk about how to become a voice over artist. What's a voice over artist? Well, it's anything that's done behind the scenes off camera using your voice. It could be cartoons or radio spots, it could be movie ads where they have the voice coming to a theater next week, things like that. You need certain things, tools, first of all, maybe a couple lessons with some voice over actor or teacher. I've taken them myself. Then you have to make a tape. You have to make a tape so that voice over agents can hear what you can do. Well you can make a tape like this only today I think more preferred of course is the CD so you have on the CD, you have samples of your voices. Mine has cartoon voices and character voices also commercials I've done. So the more you can do with your voice, the better. Say you can do some sort of strange character voices like that. It's absolutely important, it's essential that you can do the more voices, the most you can do, you know what I mean? Or how about some crazy character voice like for a cartoon. These are the things you have to be able to do. You need a really large, large range of different kind of voices. Of course you've got the very serious guy, Hi, this is Richard Rifkin and we're here at the Merlin Theater, things like that. Learn what you can do, find out what your range is, go and take some lessons, make yourself a CD, go and get an agent and maybe we'll hear you off camera behind the scenes on a commercial or a movie advertisement.
