My name is Christine Marquette and I am a registered and licensed dietitian with Marquette Nutrition and Fitness and I have been asked about the fastest natural way to lose weight. Now unfortunately there isn't any one set of magic rules that will work for everyone when it comes to losing weight naturally. The core things that you need to keep in mind, plenty of water, that's the one thing that seems to work for the majority of people, making sure you drink lots of water. The next thing that works for the majority of people is making sure you balance your healthy diet with adequate exercise. For weight loss the vast majority of people need to put in at least an hour of exercise most days of the week. The third main tenet is making sure that you eat a lot of whole natural foods and by that I mean avoiding a lot of processed foods. If you can eat a lot of fruits, a lot of vegetables. If you are choosing grains you are choosing whole grains rather than refined grain products. Those are really your main key to losing weight naturally. It may not necessarily be fat. It is going to vary person to person. It really is dependent on your own body's metabolism. Some people naturally will have a faster metabolism so if they just make a few healthy changes they will start dropping weight very quickly. If you have any issues with your thyroid function that causes you to have a slower metabolism it is going to take you longer to lose weight than your average person. The other factor is how well you sleep. If you don't get good sleep that's going to slow how fast you lose weight. So the main tenets for the fastest methods of losing weight naturally, making sure you drink plenty of water, getting plenty of fruits and vegetables and whole grains, having a good hour of exercise daily and making sure you get adequate sleep, for most people that means at least seven hours of sleep a night.
