"I want to talk to you about blood pressure cuffs. It is an inner layer of rubber. It wraps around your arm, the upper part of your arm, with air it squeezes your arm and usually the outer part is made of nylon. It has a fastener to hold the cuff in place and it has a dial to go where you can see the dial and it has numbers on it usually from 0 to 300 plus. It will go over the biracial artery right at the break of the arm. The cuff size is very important because if you have too small a cuff and you have a very large arm then you know the cuff is going to come off and you are not going to get a reading or you are going to get a poor inaccurate reading. If you have it too big and the arm is really skinny then what is going to happen is you are going to keep wrapping the cuff around the little skinny arm and then the air keeps pulling filling within the spaces of the cuff but it is really not going to measure the blood pressure within the biracial artery. So you need an accurate size cuff to be able to put around the arm in the upper arm where the biracial readings are recorded and you can see them on a dial."
