What can happen if antibiotics are used improperly? One the drugs will stop working. Many times they will become resistant causing super bugs and we have that problem now, that we have so many super bugs that nothing will kill them and it's a slow horrible death. There is not any medicine that will help so we just don't want to keep demanding antibiotics for everything. We still demand antibiotics from our doctors as a prescription, when we have the flu or cold like symptoms which is not usually a bacteria infection. It doesn't work on viruses so there is no use in getting an antibiotic for that. You only want to use your antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor and take them all as ordered. If you miss a dose don't try to say oh I'll just start over again tomorrow. It might be that when you realize it it might be just a couple of hours. What you do is you take it then and put yourself back on schedule again. Don't share your medications with anyone. They're not for that person. You do not know what their diagnosis is. They have not been perhaps properly diagnosed, it might be a self diagnosis or it might be just similar to yours and the antibiotics may not work for them. It is against the law to share your medications and don't try to double up on your medications. If you miss a dose wait an hour or half hour and when you realize it get back on schedule. It is very important that you take them all. You shouldn't even have any left over antibiotics in your house for any time the physician has ordered them for you.
