This is about how to find a doctor. I try to put myself in the place of not knowing any physicians, and going maybe perhaps, to a strange town, or strange employment, and just figuring out, how would I find a doctor? and some of the things that I believe that would help you, is that first of all, as you begin to meet folks in the new town, or wherever you are, word of mouth has always been good. Specialty groups, finding out if you need a specialty doctor, then checking out several. Insurances, call your insurance company, find out from them who they recommend, and then go and visit them. Go to your local hospital, because the legal and ethical reasons, they're going to be able, they're going to be required to give you three names, so that you can pick from them, if they'll give you any at all. You could also see who's on their staff there, because whoever is on their staff, has been cleared to practice in their hospitals, and in their nursing homes also. Health care professionals, they, for legal reasons, and for ethical reasons, they have to give you at least three to choose from, but at least it gives you somewhere to start. Visit the doctor's offices, that have been given to you. Drive by, see where they are, see what part of town they're in, see what kind of doctors they are, go inside, get their cards, speak to the staff. Find out about them, call the medical board, of the ones that you choose. Find out if they've ever been recommended for anything, if they've had any malpractice lawsuits against them, see how it was settled. You can call your medical board, in the state in which you live, to find out about that, and you could also go to the websites, or you can go to your phone book, to the directory of where the physicians are listed.
