"Hi, my name is Bill Rae. I'm with Alumni Financial Services. I've been in the business of the finance world for well over 20 years and today we're going to talk a little bit about different types of investments. First of all I think you should understand investing. Investing is the act of committing monies or capital if you will, into an endeavor in which you have an expectation of getting a return on your money. So it's important to understand that investing and when you go to invest, you should understand what monies are asked, how long they expect to hold your investment and what type of return you're going to get on it. As in any type of investing, you really need to do your homework. You need to talk to people who are licensed if necessary in that type of investment vehicle and or have some years of experience. As to the type of investing, pretty much anything your putting money into and expecting to get a return could be classified as an investment. Stocks and bonds, real estate, personal loans, a business, anything where you put money into and expect to get a return on your money is and could be classified as an investment. In today's environment and under today's laws, many investments that are done publicly must be handled by a licensed professional and as always we recommend seek outside counsel, make sure of what it is you're signing, make sure you've done your homework. My name is Bill Rae, I'm with Alumni Financial Service and as always, we're here to help you build wealth."
