Short term medical or health insurance plans can be purchased with maternity options or writers within those policies. Now typically having a short term policy with a maternity option or coverage included in it will be quite a bit more expensive than just having your traditional short term medical insurance policy. Because some people may purchase this short term medical insurance with the maternity with the intention of purchasing it only for having children and obtaining this sort of maternity coverage when when they have a child. Now there may be some exclusionary periods when purchasing these policies where you may not be able to have maternity expenses for three months, six months a year, just depending on the policy, because for the reason that they don't want people just purchasing the policy and then immediately claiming all this money for maternity expenses. You can purchase these short term type of plans through a variety of of health care providers. Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kaiser, even HealthNet and some of the on-line companies and providers will offer their, their products as well. So shop around, see what's out there, see what the terms and look at the amounts of coverage are, and if you're purpose is to obtain coverage simply for maternity, see if you can get it through your existing health insurance coverage policy or or make sure that that the exclusionary period is something that you are able to cope with and deal with. This has been John Pinelli, financial representative, talking to you today about short term health insurance with maternity coverage."
