"Hello, my name is Mark Blocker and in this segment we're going to cover what is a door planer. Okay, here I got two basic types of planers one's hand planer and the other one is a power planer. The power planer uses a rotating cutting head to do the work and a hand planer uses a knife blade or a cutting edge. It slides down below and the actual leverage or hand movement of the planer itself does all the work. I'll give you a quick demonstration of how a planer would work. On a door you got a section on the part of your door that doesn't close correctly, you might want to plan that down so it makes the door easier to close and it won't hit on the cage. The way you do so whether you're using a hand planer or power planer. Let's say we want to remove a section of this door right in here where it's sitting on a frame by holding a planer firmly against the door with two hands, we want to slide this planer up and that's going to remove the material ever so slight cutting each time until we plan that down where the door go into the jam without hitting or any obstructions. That's what a door planer is."
