Hello, my name is Mark Blocker. In this segment we're going to cover how to find automobile paint codes. Okay. On most all automobiles, the paint code can be found inside the driver's door on the door jamb. You'll see two types of paint codes here. One is for the exterior paint, the actual paint code color itself. The other one is for interior color. The one you're going to be concerned with, it's just going to be the plain color one. And that's the paint code itself, G-83P-3. Now your local dealer can decode this for you and tell you exactly what the color paint is, or give you the proper paint for replacement, or touch up of things of that nature. If your paint code is missing from here, check your owner's manual and see the paint code might be posted in a different location on your specific model automobile. If all else fails, off the vehicle registration you can obtain the VIN number. You can also obtain the VIN number right up in the front left corner of the windshield, and your local dealership can decode that VIN number and give you the paint code from the VIN number itself, as well. So that's how you find the automobile paint code.
