Hi, my name is Samir Malik and I'm a private tutor for middle school and high school students here in the Austin area. Today we're going to be discussing tutoring ideas. Now, tutoring ideas are ideas which tutors can have. For example, being an effective tutor. What can the tutor do to be that effective tutor is work closely with the student in areas the student feels he or she needs to improve on academically. Spending a little more extra time with that student in these subject areas will help the students not only achieve his or her academic goals within that particular subject area, but it will also help the student understand and realize the importance of spending that additional time in that particular subject area, where the student may be lacking or may be needing a little more experience or time or energy in to be able to get that grade up to where it really needs to be. Other ideas are, making sure the student is relaxed whenever the tutor is working with the student. If the student is hesitant, or he is agitated or uncomfortable while the tutor is tutoring a particular subject area, it may not work out as a very successful relationship between the tutor and the student. So, ensuring that the student is comfortable, relaxed, happy to be able to want to learn from the tutor, and follow the guidelines the tutor have set, will help that relationship between the tutor and student establish and grow. And therefore, both the tutor and student will be able to achieve their goals as far as having a successful academic outcome. Other ideas would be following up regularly with the parents of the student, ensuring that there's good communication between the student and the parent, as well as the tutor and the parents of the student, is a critical factor in determining the success and the outcome of the student. So that's another idea which a tutor can work on, is not only maintaining, you know, regular communication with the student, but also with the parents of the student. These are some ideas of being a tutor.
