This is John Pinelli, financial representative talking to you today about the benefits of having health insurance. There are millions of Americans out there who do not have health insurance and this is a huge risk they take on by not having this type of coverage. Health insurance can cover anything from sicknesses like cold and flu all the way up to some surgeries and procedures that may be necessary due to an injury. In fact, health care costs in the United States have been rising at a rate of six percent a year whereas inflation has only really been rising by three to four percent a year. So we can see that with these rising costs out pacing the inflation, how important it can be to have health insurance to cover a lot of these needs that can arise through the course of your daily life. There are affordable health insurance plans out there for individuals and for individuals with low income who cannot afford health insurance, there is Medicaid for those who can qualify. So when looking at health insurance, look for something that makes sense for you, if you have a lower income you can find affordable plans with higher deductibles that may only cover you against major risks whereas if you've got a little more cash it might be a good idea to go with a plan with a low co-pay or with no deductible that can provide you immediate coverage should you have a need and go into the hospital and need coverage. Also another important thing to consider is what additional coverages these health care plans might include, things like maternal care, pregnancies, dental, vision, and also prescriptions as well. So look into the plan, find out what's right for you and go with a health care provider that you can trust and that's easy to work with. So this has been John Pinelli, financial representative talking to you today about the benefits of health insurance.
