Hi I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about guidelines for writing a reflective essay paper. Now a good way to start a guideline for starting the reflective essay is to think about your topic in an open way so you might create a web or a map of your ideas or even just a free form brainstorm about ideas on this topic since your reflecting you want to get a lot of ideas out there, really think in a reflective way about the topic. Now based on what you come up with, what your reflections are, you could go begin to assemble a format or an outline of the idea, put that on paper and begin to map out what you're going to say in your reflective essay. Usually vivid language in an assignment like this, it's important to keep your prose from becoming boring since you're reflecting in your possibly using your own thoughts and memories you want to make sure that you're using strong language and imagery to make it more interesting. You also want to get some peer feedback, get some feedback from another reader because with this type of reflection it can get offtrack, it can ramble a bit and not stay focused. So it might help to get someone else to read it, help use their questions to help you to format it in a more cohesive way then go back and edit, do proofreading, do another draft, go through the same process again and be sure to turn in a well formatted final draft. So those are some guidelines for writing a reflective essay.
