Video Transcript

"Hello my name is Dr. Carol Clark. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and sex therapist here in Miami, Florida. In this clip we're going to talk about pregnancy tests. Pregnancy tests can be either taken at home, the ones that you can buy over the counter or you can got to your doctor and be tested for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin which is the hormone that's released when a woman is pregnant. Your doctor can check either blood or urine to find out if that hormone is present in your system and therefore you're pregnant and it's 99% effective. Home pregnancy tests, you test your urine and you read the tests to see yes or no but they need to be followed up with a visit to your doctor. Only the doctor can say with absolute certainty that you're pregnant or not. So make sure if you do the home pregnancy test you do have that follow up. Once again this is Dr. Carol Clark in Miami, Florida."
