"Hello. My name is Dr. Carol Clark. I'm a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Sex Therapist, here in Miami, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about, how effective is Plan B. Plan B, is an emergency contraceptive. It's not the morning after pill, it does not induce any kind of abortion and should not be used by anyone that is pregnant. What it is, is an emergency contraceptive. So it prevents pregnancy. And it does this with two pills, actually twelve hours apart, within seventy-two hours after having unprotected sex. It releases progestin into the body, so acts as any other hormonal contraceptive. It usually does not have estrogen in it. And so, there are side effects that increase the risk of uterine cancer, and must be used judiciously. Once again, this is Dr. Carol Clark, from Miami Florida."
