"My name is Bill Rae. I'm with Alumni Financial Services. I've been in the business and finance for well over 20 years. Today, we're going to talk about how to invest in the cash flow note business. Well, I think the first thing we should come to understand is what is a cash note? In the cash note business, we have many, many types of vehicles that you might be interested in. Real estate is one of the biggest and what most people are usually comfortable at looking at. We also have structured settlements. For instance, suppose you have a situation where one becomes injured and is offered a settlement -- usually, a large sum of money. Obviously, they're not going to get all that money in one lump sum, so the insurance companies will generally offer a monthly structured settlement. Many people, however, are willing to sell that month flow...that monthly cash flow for a certain amount of dollars upfront. That's the cash flow note business. So what you want to do is look around. Check out your local attorneys in the area. Personal injury is a good place to start. Also, little ads in the newspaper offering to buy structured settlements and real estate mortgages. But like anything else in the finance field, you need to do your homework. Make sure you measure your risk versus your reward. If you're going to lay out good, hard money now, how are you going to get it back? My advice is always seek outside counsel. Call someone such as us. But definitely understand what it is that you're signing, when you're going to get your money back, and is it profitable. My name is Bill Rae with Alumni Financial Services, and we're helping you build wealth."
