How to Protect Your Yard From Mice & Moles

"How to take care of nuisance wild life, rodents and pest problems. This is Ed with Critter Control of Tampa Bay. How to protect your yard from mice and moles. For mice outside you want to keep your area clean. Improve the sanitation. Monitor that food source, the water source, and the shelter source. Eliminate where they can go in and have proper shelter. Seal up the house. Don't let them come to you. Keep the landscaping clean. Next if you already have mice in your yard, use a tamper resistant bait station. Put your poison in the tamper resistant bait station or put traps inside the station so that you can check it on a daily basis. Remove the mice that are there. I put my bait stations on a concrete patio stone. It keeps them in place and right where I put them . If you have a safe place to put them, traps will also help to keep the population down. For moles in my yard, you would have to put a concrete block wall around the property with no entrances. Because if there's entrances, they go underneath the gate. The moles are there to eat worms and grubs. What I prefer is to trap the moles out of the yard, remove them and that keeps the yard relatively mole free. If all else fails, call a professional.
