"Hi I'm Jim Newman from Making Waves Incorporated and this is how to properly maintain a saltwater aquarium also known as a marine aquarium. What you want to do when you're maintaining a marine aquarium is you want to go right ahead and do various water tests once a week. Those tests should be PH, nitrite, nitrate, ammonia and alkalinity. Another thing that you might want to test for especially if you have a reef aquarium is your calcium levels, iodide levels and then you also want to see strontium and molybdenum. Those items right there are the chief components of a marine aquarium when it comes down to reef keeping. Your PH levels in a marine aquarium should be kept between 8.3 and 8.2. Your specific gravity which is the maintaining of the salt level in your aquarium should be maintained at anywhere between 1.022 to 1.025."
