"Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis, and I'm going to tell you about when you should throw away a pillow. This really is a big mystery, and a lot of people don't know when to throw their pillows away. When you think about what a pillow can actually have inside of it, you may think twice about how long you keep that pillow, and how many times you lay your head on it, after it's expiration date. Pillows can harbor mold, and bacteria, if they're not dried completely. Or if someone's sick, and maybe they're sweating a little bit, they can grow mold, and bacteria inside of them. Also, dust mites, love pillows. So, you don't want to have dust mite country in your pillow. You can wash them regularly, and if you're going to throw them in the washing machine, you know, wash it as usual, and then when you dry them, you want to throw them in the dryer with the two t's. Tennis balls, and towels. This will fluff your pillows up really well, and give them a longer shelf life. I'd say do this regularly. As often as you clean your sheets, for about two to three years. After two, to three years, I think your pillow has done it's job, and it's time to go buy a new one. I'm Rachel Yatuzis, and that is how you know when to throw out your pillow."
